Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Benazirabad was established with the mission to provide higher standard of education in the government and private schools and colleges at the matric and intermediate levels. Before the establishment of the educational boards in Sindh, the University of Sindh was assigned the task of registration of the students to conduct their SSC and HSSC classes annual and supplementary exams on the scheduled dates and time under Sindh University Act 1947. When the students pass their exams, Sindh University issued the certificates to the passing students of their relevant classes and the students were allowed to continue their further education by producing their certificates issued by Sindh University. The Government of West Pakistan passed their West Pakistan Ordinance 1961 for the establishment of the educational boards and the government also passed various Ordinances / Acts to ensure effective functioning of the board.

BISE Benazirabad is considered one of the oldest boards, which was established under this West Pakistan Act 1961 and the educational institutes in public and private sectors are affiliated with this educational board. All these schools and colleges get registered their students with this board to appear in their matric and intermediate classes annual and supplementary examinations every year. the schools and colleges submit get their students registered with Shaheed Benazirabad Board by submitting their registration forms and after that these educational institutes send the admission forms of their students for the issue of date sheet and roll number slips, which allow the students to attend their matric and inter classes annual exams. The exams section of BISE Shaheed Benazirabad completes the documentation of the students and issues the date sheets and roll number slips to students ensuring their participation in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th classes annual exams.

BISE Shaheed Benazirabad appoints the exams staff in the allotted exams centers, which are allotted to the students for their coming SSC and HSSC classes annual exams. The exams section of the board hands over the answer sheets of the students to the senior teachers of the government schools to check and marking them. The educational board completes the results of all classes and organizes the result announcement ceremonies to announce the result of the relevant classes. The prize distribution ceremony is also managed, in which the names of the top position holding students are also announced and they are also awarded with the prizes. The board issues the certificates to the students so that they can be able to get admission in higher classes and they can continue their learning after getting admission in the universities and degree awarding institutes.
